Happy New Year! Welcome 2011!

Happy New Year!  I hope 2010 was prosperous for you!  I began my shop - 4RHeartstrings - on etsy, on January 20th, 2010 and have had an exciting year of ups and downs.  Off to a slow start, I began to add new and different items which seem to take off more during the holiday seasons.  I hope to add some more new items in my "crocheted" section, some new "keychains" and "steampunk-inspired" jewelry in 2011.  I'm also going to look for more "baby" items to create and add, in honor of my little nephew who has been struggling with some medical issues since a few months old.

Welcome October!

Fall season is here, with cooler climates, leaves changing from green to yellow, orange and red.  Football is in full swing and time to think about upcoming holidays for shopping!


With my creative juices flowing, I recently designed 5 new bracelets that I am so proud of!  I usually make them in kids sizes, but I had to make at least one a little bigger for an adult because they turned out so pretty!  I will be photographing them this weekend and hope to have them posted by the beginning of next week.  Please check the shop:  www.4RHeartstrings.etsy.com to see when they arrive!


Handmade gifts can be nice AND affordable.  One shop that has adorable handmade items that are of professional quality is www.ciliciahomeandhearth.etsy.com.  One of my favorites is her reusable baggies.  My kids use them for their lunches every day at school and they are green, so no waste!

Buy Handmade!

I have found a new love for handmade items and I try to buy handmade as often as possible.  I know how much hard work and dedication goes into handcrafting products and I will do my part to support that by purchasing handmade.

I would incourage you to try to buy handmade too!  What types of items would you like to purchase for your loved ones that are handmade?  What is your favorite thing to buy at the store that you might want to try handmade?  Candles? Clothing? Jewelry? Everything started out handmade at some point, so look back to the roots and buy handmade!

Inspirations for new products

Every now and then I will be shopping and will find something I just LOVE and it will inspire me to create new items for my etsy shop. My lastest creations are some keychains made with charms I just fell in love with and had to have! They are high-quality silver metal combined with resin, crystals and other artistic techniques that make them unique and lovely.


These keychains would make a perfect gift for someone special. I already know who I would give the charms I listed in my shop and I guess that's why I chose the charms that I did.
